The UniME Welcome Day, a festive day dedicated to welcoming freshers, socialising, and discovering the services offered by the University, will be held on Tuesday, October 15, starting from 5:30 pm until late in the evening at the Rectorate Courtyard in Piazza Pugliatti (Central Campus). The event will be enriched by the Welcome Party, organised by the student associations.

The event will begin with a welcome speech by the Rector, Prof. Giovanna Spatari, followed by institutional speeches from Prof. Antonino Germanà, Vice-Rector for Student Services, Prof. Candida Milone, Vice-Rector for Teaching, and Prof. Maria Grazia Sindoni, Vice-Rector for Intercultural and Multilingual Pathways. The event will be moderated by Prof. Cinzia Ingratoci, Delegate for the Promotion and Development of Local Educational Offer.

New students will receive a welcome gift and have the opportunity to visit the information stands to discover all the services and facilities offered by the University of Messina. These include canteen services, accommodation, transport, language certifications, international mobility, sports activities, paid collaborations, tuition fee reductions, and exclusive digital services such as Wi-Fi, UniME App, the Student Chat and Microsoft packages. Information will also be provided on libraries, study and career guidance, study support groups, how to tackle the TOLC, and services aimed at psychological fragility, disabilities, or specific learning disorders.

The Welcome Party will feature the university radio UniversoMe, DJs, and music bands.

There will also be an exhibition of memorabilia and historic computers, promoted by the Retro Computing Museum of Messina, an association that contributes to the dissemination of computer heritage and the preservation of retro gaming consoles.
