The University of Messina is enhancing student services at the Cavallotti Cultural Hub by introducing two important updates: extended study room hours and a new digital access system.

Starting Monday, 30 March 2026, the study room at the Cavallotti Hub (formerly the Bank of Italy building) will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The extended schedule responds to a direct request from students and provides greater availability of study spaces during the afternoon and evening hours, in line with students’ study habits.

At the same time, the UniME Virtual Badge will be activated—a digital solution designed to simplify access to university facilities. The badge, already available to all students within the UniME App, integrates the student’s identification data—name, student ID number, photograph—and a personal QR code into a single tool.

Access to the Cavallotti Hub will take place by scanning the QR code directly at the entrance, eliminating manual procedures and ensuring a faster and more orderly flow of entries.

The Virtual Badge marks the first step towards an integrated system of digital services: the same technology will gradually be extended to other areas of university life, making the student experience simpler, more immediate, and aligned with contemporary digital standards.
