All international students may enrol in one of the 1st and 2nd cycle programmes of the Italian University System. To be eligible for enrolment in the Italian University system, (Bachelor’s level) students must be at least 17 years old and have completed 12 years of schooling.
At Unime students are allowed to submit applications for two different programmes. Please choose the programmes according to your previous studies and review the admission requirements before submitting your application.
The application call for the A. Y. 2023/2024 for the Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degrees programmes will open on February 1, 2023. Application deadline: June 1, 2023.
For the Single Cycle Degree and Vocational Master's Degree Programmes the application call start has been postponed and will be communicated later.
In the following sections are listed the procedures to apply for a pre-evaluation prior to the enrolment in the Degree programmes taught in English and Italian.
For the Degree programmes taught in English, you must first send your application for a pre-evaluation on the Unime Applicant Portal. Only if your application is positively evaluated, you will receive a pre-acceptance letter with all the instructions to register at the Universitaly portal and go forward with the visa procedure.
Students are required to upload an International English Language Certificate (B1 / B2 level as prescribed in the entry requirements of each degree programme) issued by a recognized Institution in the language section of the application, unless they belong to one of the categories exempt from the International Language Certificate, listed in the document provided below.
The reason for this is twofold: to select qualified students who can successfully function in their selected degree programmes; and to ensure that the Italian Consular Authorities are positively impressed by students applying to our university. Due to the large increase in study visa applications, they tend to consider students with an International English Language Certificate in a more positive light.
Students can apply without an International English Language Certificate, but their application might be considered incomplete. In this case, the applicants will have 30 days to provide the required certificate. Only for the Single Cycle Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery, the International English Language Certificate is optional, as the IMAT exam evaluates a B2 level.
Register at Unime Applicant Portal and submit the required documents listed below to receive a pre-evaluation of your profile:
- High school diploma obtained after 12 years of schooling. If you do not have your diploma yet, you can upload an official provisional certificate issued by your School (Course Completion Certificate). If your High school diploma is less than 12 years, you can submit: a) an academic certificate stating that you have passed all the required exams of the first year of University studies (in the case of local school systems of ten or eleven years); b) certificates from Italian Universities regarding the successful completion of a Foundation Programme.
- University Entrance Exam Certificate, if required by the national education system.
- Trascript of records.
- Copy of a valid passport.
- English proficiency certificate: see the dedicated section above.
If your application is positively evaluated, you will receive a pre-acceptance letter with all the instructions to register at the Universitaly portal and go forward with the visa procedure.
Unime will confirm your acceptance on the Universitaly Portal only if the abovementioned documents are valid and correctly uploaded. This will begin the visa application process.
The Italian Diplomatic Authorities of your country will inform you of visa approval. Please bear in mind once you applied it is no longer necessary to contact us about the visa. You can access the Universitaly portal and check your request status.
