Mandatory requirements for participation in the Call, under penalty of exclusion:
- Submission of the Learning Agreement for Traineeship (LAT), including the work plan to be carried out abroad, duly completed and signed by the student, the degree programme academic coordinator for international mobility, and the host organisation.
- Certification/self-certification of language proficiency (Annexes 1 or 2).
- Details of the host organisation where the traineeship is to be carried out (see Annex 4 – Guidelines for completing the Erasmus+ application), specifying, in the relevant section, the country to which the organisation belongs.
Funding for Erasmus+ “Long mobility” traineeships:
The grant for Erasmus+ traineeship long-term mobility consists of a monthly EU allowance funded by the Erasmus+ National Agency / INDIRE, ranging from €500 to €550 per month, depending on the country of destination.
This funding component is awarded to all successful applicants under the Erasmus+ Traineeship Call for Applications for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Funding for “Short mobility” traineeships (short-term mobility) – open exclusively to PhD candidates and medical/specialisation trainees:
The grant for short-term mobility is calculated on the basis of the duration of the traineeship period carried out in physical presence (see the Call for Applications for details).
TRAVEL GRANT
The Travel Grant is a contribution awarded to all selected participants. The amount varies according to the distance band corresponding to the distance between the University of Messina and the Erasmus+ destination, as defined in the Call for Applications.
Certification of language proficiency (Article 6)
Students may demonstrate that they meet the language proficiency level required by the host organisation through one of the following methods:
- uploading to the platform one of the international language certificates recognised by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR);
- self-certification of successful completion and official recording in the academic transcript of the language exam included in the study programme.
For Bachelor’s degree programmes, the required level is B1, while for Master’s degree and Single-cycle degree programmes the required level is B2 (unless a different level is specified in the programme regulations) (Annex 1); - self-certification of having passed the CLA language test for participation in Erasmus+ Study or Erasmus+ Traineeship mobility calls during the calendar years 2025 and 2026 (Annex 1);
- self-certification of having passed the Online Linguistic Support (OLS) test, in cases where the student has already taken part in an Erasmus mobility period in previous academic years (Annex 1);
- self-certification for native speaker students and for students enrolled in degree programmes taught entirely in English, who may declare their level of language proficiency (Annex 1).
Participation in the Call is also permitted without a specific language certification. In this case, in order to apply, students must upload to the platform the “Declaration of Commitment to Achieve the Required Language Level” (Annex 2), by which they undertake to reach the language level required by the host institution strictly before departure, through one of the following means:
- successful completion and official recording in the academic transcript of the language exam included in the study programme (Annex 2);
- successful completion of a CLA language test organised by the University and specifically arranged for Erasmus mobility; these tests will take place on 15 July 2026 (Annex 2).
Students who apply without a specific language certification (by submitting the Declaration of Commitment) and are selected as beneficiaries will be considered “conditionally allocated”.
Following the many positive experiences reported by our students in previous years, we recommend using the platforms Erasmusu and Erasmus Play, where you can find a wide range of accommodation options along with relevant information.
Students will be required to independently cover any costs related to intermediation services charged by the above-mentioned platforms.
Students are hereby informed that on Monday, 25 May at 10:00 a.m., an information webinar will be held, during which the application procedures for the Call will be explained. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask general questions.
