In the recently published THE Impact Ranking 2024, the University of Messina has been ranked 1st in Italy and 23rd worldwide for its work on SDG 3 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. This is an important recognition of the policies that UniME has been pursuing for several years on the sustainability front. In particular, a series of policies such as those aimed at guaranteeing free sports activities for students, cultural events and training projects in the field of public health, relations with health institutions, and psychological support for young people have had an impact. In the ranking, in which 1,498 universities are assessed, UniME stands out among the 16 Italian universities ranked for this objective.

'This is an award for the great work that our University is doing to make a concrete contribution to sustainable development and the promotion of the 2030 Agenda goals', said the Rector, Prof. Giovanna Spatari. 'It is a path in which we are constantly growing and which we are pursuing with great commitment. The intention is to shape a fair, more sustainable and supportive academic institution, promoting values and taking care of people, in the interest of the community and the territory'.
