Learning Italian at UniME

Studying at the University of Messina will enrich your study experience, will broaden your cultural background, improve your professional skills and give you the opportunity to explore the beauty of Sicily and Italy. All this can be further enriched by learning Italian language! This will give you the opportunity to understand more about local culture.

The Department of Ancient and Modern Civilizations (DICAM) provides 40 hour-long courses of Italian language (30 hours in person; 10 on the UniMeStone platform) for students on international mobility (incoming students) and foreign nationals. A1-A2 and A2-B1 level courses are organized throughout the two semesters of the academic year. At the end of the Course a certificate will be issued upon request. In order to take the final exam, students must have 75% attendance of the 30 hours in person (22 hours) plus 100% attendance of the 10 hours on the platform

If a student fails to reach the minimum attendance rate to take the exam, they can take again the course in a subsequent semester, following the regular registration procedure, comprised the payment of the due fee. The attendance in the previous courses won’t be taken into account.

Students must register by the 15th of October (first semester courses) and by the 17th of February (second semester courses).

Students must register using the Esse3 platform
