Italy Calls India (ICI) is a new initiative connecting Indian students enrolled at Italian universities with Italian companies, offering opportunities for internships, apprenticeships and potential employment. Aimed particularly at Master's and PhD students, the project helps participants gain professional experience and build links with businesses active in both Italy and India.
Through the online platform, students can create a profile detailing their academic background, language skills and career goals. They can also indicate their future plans, such as remaining in Italy, returning to India or pursuing opportunities with Italian companies abroad.
The matching process is managed by Unimpiego, Confindustria's employment agency, which shares student profiles with companies across its network. The initiative seeks to facilitate the transition from university to industry through internships and apprenticeship contracts, while also addressing key issues for international students, including visa requirements, language skills and fair remuneration.
By strengthening collaboration between universities and businesses, Italy Calls India aims to enhance the employability of Indian students and support the internationalisation of both the Italian higher education system and the business sector.
