‘QS World University Ranking 2026’, UniME included in the top 750 universities worldwide worldwide and #22 in Italy

In the just-published ‘QS World University Ranking 2026’, UniME gains additional 10 positions in the global ranking, being ranked in the #741-750 bandwidth worldwide and #22 in Italy (#25 in 2025). Furthermore, UniME results in being the leading Sicilian University. The number of participating institutions has increased from 5,663 to 8,467 in the current edition, representing a 2,804-institution increase.

The University of Messina is distinguished by the calibre of its research, as evidenced by the citation rate of its faculty members' publications. It holds an impressive 323rd position globally, marking a significant advancement of 49 positions from the previous year. Notably, UniME ranks among the top 15 Italian universities, showcasing its noteworthy academic standing. 

The university was also recognised for its international scientific collaborations, being ranked #375 worldwide for the indicator related to the rate of publications with international scientific co-authors. 

It has been confirmed that UniME is among the top 500 universities worldwide in terms of its commitment to sustainability, both in terms of teaching and scientific research.
