University of Messina introduces extraordinary Support Measures for Iranian Students

As anticipated, the University has adopted extraordinary support measures specifically for students of Iranian nationality. These initiatives aim to provide concrete assistance and ensure the continuity of your academic careers.

  • Enrollment deadline Extension: The deadline for enrollment via the ESSE3 system has been extended to March 31, 2026, without the application of any late payment fees (mora).
  • Administrative Assistance: In coordination with the competent Italian diplomatic and consular authorities, the University will provide support to facilitate the finalization of entry visa procedures and subsequent enrollment.
  • Tuition Fee Exemption: A temporary exemption from the University Contribution (C.O.A.) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, as well as any other contributions or late fees, is granted to students already enrolled in a Degree Program who are not currently recipients of scholarships or other financial aid measures.
  • Extraordinary Session: All students are permitted to sit examinations during the extraordinary session in May.
  • Financial Standing: Students are authorized to take examinations even if there are pending tuition fee payments.
  • Psychological Support Specific psychological support and counseling initiatives have been activated. Interested students may request assistance through the University Center for Psychological Research and Intervention (CE.RI.P.).
  • Inclusion Measures The Center for Migration, Social Integration, and Intercultural Communication (CEMI) will identify dedicated support actions to further facilitate the academic and social inclusion of Iranian students.
  • Potential Further Measures The University reserves the right to evaluate and adopt additional exceptional measures should the current state of instability deteriorate further.
