THE World University Rankings 2026: UniME ranked in the global bandwith 501-600

The Times Higher Education has released the 2026 edition of its World University Rankings. Despite the growing number of institutions included this year (2,191 universities), the University of Messina (UniME) maintains its position in the 501–600 bandwith, placing it in the top global quartile.

UniME stands out for its high percentage of faculty members holding a PhD, scoring an impressive 99.5% compared to the top-ranked university worldwide. It also performs strongly in scientific productivity, with a score of 90.6%.

The university also earns recognition for its international study opportunities, achieving a score of 91.1% in comparison to the global leader.

UniME ranks #26 among Italian universities in this year’s list.
