The QS World University Rankings 2027 have been published. This year, our University is placed in the 761–770 bandwidth worldwide and ranks #24 among Italian universities, taking first place among universities in Sicily and Calabria. In this edition, 8,808 institutions were included, compared with 8,467 last year (+341).
Our University’s strongest performances were achieved in the bibliometric indicator “Citations per Faculty” (which measures the quality of scientific research), where it ranks #330 globally; in “Sustainability” (commitment to social and environmental sustainability), where it ranks #520 worldwide; and in the “International Research Network” indicator (which measures the internationalisation of research activities), where it is ranked #521 in the world.
The University of Messina also confirms its excellence in terms of overall score, with a median value that is higher than the respective averages for both Italian and global universities.
