In the ‘QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026’, the University of Messina ranks #524 worldwide out of over 2000 institutions and #22 nationwide.
Specifically, UniME performed best in the Health and Wellbeing indicator, which measures universities' efforts to promote health and well-being, and in the Equality indicator, which measures UniME's commitment to social and gender equality.

In the Times Higher Education (THE) – World University Rankings 2026, UniME confirms its overall position in the bandwidth #501-600, out of a total of 2,191 institutions from 115 countries and territories, remaining in the top global quartile, and being ranked #26 among the Italian universities evaluated.
UniME stands out for its high percentage of faculty members holding a PhD, scoring an impressive 99.5% compared to the top-ranked university worldwide. It also performs strongly in scientific productivity, with a score of 90.6%.
The university also earns recognition for its international study opportunities, achieving a score of 91.1% in comparison to the global leader.
UniME also continues to lead the way in promoting health and well-being.
